Simple to install and lightweight, the Mercury 8hp outboard is portable for most leisure users. Weighing just 38kg, the Mercury F8M is a perfect outboard engine for our VY33 Inflatable boat or OP33 Open RIB.  The F8MLH (Long Shaft) is not suitable for use on Storm inflatables but can be used as an auxiliary engine on our RIBs.

The 8hp FourStroke features a convenient multifunction tiller handle that provides easy one-hand shifting operation. Furthermore, this outboard comes equipped with the exclusive automatic reverse hook that doesn’t require you to change a clumsy lever manually to hold the engine in place whilst reversing.

The Mercury 8hp Mercury Outboard is ideal for long shaft Jon boats, skiffs, and small pontoons as well as sailboat and trolling/kicker applications. This 84 lb. Mercury 8 HP Outboard engine is lightweight and yet the powerful twin-cylinder four-stroke offers smooth, quiet, fuel efficient operation. The multi-function tiller handle provides one-hand operation of F-N-R gear shifting, throttle and throttle tension, steering, and stopping. Mercury’s patented auto-ratchet system allows the user to easily adjust tilt and trim angle. The Mercury 8 HP Outboard Motor model: 8MLH is equipped with manual start and a 20 inch long shaft.
